However, the next scheduled outage brought an unknown repair scope due to end of life issues for turbine discs, buckets, and other hot gas path components. GE Oil & Gas will supply two 7-megawatt ICL compressors
driven by high-speed electric motors and associated electrical
drive systems provided by Converteam. The compression station
will cover the load and load relief process of the two gas turbines
at the site. The basic design of the new seal incorporates a stationary component that is abraded by a rotating part, which creates the tighter clearances required for reduced leakage. In turn, that leads to nitrogen consumption levels two-thirds lower than those of a standard laby seal and comparable to a no-contact carbon seal.
In addition to equipment supply, the new arrangement with
PETRONAS also includes a long term service agreement. GE Oil & Gas
through its Malaysian partner Sapura Power Services Sdn Bhd
will undertake to provide a wide range of services designed
to enhance equipment efficiency and performance during the
period of the frame work agreement, including spare parts,
maintenance, repairs and on-line monitoring.
