3.1 Chapter 9.1, Dimensions
Table 2 in IEC 60884-1 specifies the tolerances of the gauges. These tolerances were incorporated in
gauges A – J in the SN 441011-2-3. In part, the tolerances of the gauges were defined less tightly if such a
high precision is not relevant.
With gauges A – B, the various dimensions of the socket-outlets are verified. Gauge A1 corresponds to
gauge A in SN SEV 1011:2009; the gauges B1 and B2 correspond to gauges B and C.
Electrical contact of the plug according to SN EN 50075 in a socket-outlet is verified with gauge B3. This
test plug is used for socket-outlets which ex-factory show a clearly defined gap between the cover plate
and the socket-outlet insert, such as with a surface type socket-outlet. With the gauge B4, the safe
electrical contact is tested when socket-outlets are installed into hollow wall boxes. Details of the
measuring setup can be found in Annex B.1.
The partial insulation of the plug pins L and N of the plug types 11, 12, 13 and 21 shall fulfil the following
requirements:
1: The plastic surface of the partial insulation shall show no visible metal parts. 2: No metal parts shall be
visible where the plug pins protrude from the engagement face.

3.2 Chapter 10.4, Single-pole insertion
To verify that a single-pole insertion is impossible, a commercially available type 11 plug and a plug
according to SN EN 50075 have to be used.

Swiss household plug and socket system as per SN 441011 0). Swiss standard SN 441011 (previous SN SEV 1011, withdrawal 28.02.2022) defines the requirements for
plugs and socket-outlets for household and similar purposes, multiway and intermediate adaptors, cord extension sets, cord extension sets with multiple
portable socket-outlets, travel adaptors and fixed adaptors. The Swiss system is extended by plugs and socket-outlets with the degree of protection IP55. This
system is dust protected (IP5X) and water jet protected (IPX5). For appliances mainly used at LOCAIIONs requiring an increased IP protection (> IP21), an IP55
plug shall be fitted. For example for appliances for construction sites, for agricultural and gardening establishments and for all appliances for outdoor use.
This also applies to the fixed socket-outlet IP55 on the exterior house wall or in the building site power distribution cabinet, This standard clearly
specifies the relevant products for the Swiss market, thereby reliably covering electrical safety and user requirements.
