中和處理的主要作用包括兩個(gè)方面:發(fā)生酸堿中和反應(yīng),調(diào)整pH值至9.左右。之所以將PH值選擇調(diào)整到9.左右有如下兩個(gè)原因,其一pH值在排放標(biāo)準(zhǔn)之內(nèi),其二這個(gè)pH值有利于后續(xù)沉淀反應(yīng)的進(jìn)行。沉淀部分重金屬,使鋅、銅等重金屬元素生成氫氧化物沉淀。沉淀反應(yīng)在沉淀箱中進(jìn)行,其作用是去除廢水中的重金屬離子(如汞、鎘、鉛、鋅、銅等)、堿土金屬(如鈣、鎂)以及某些非金屬(如砷、氟等)。對(duì)于一定濃度的某種金屬離子而言,溶液的PH值是沉淀金屬氫氧化物的重要條件。
